Welcome to field notes!

I am a budding biologist with an interest in anything that grows or moves. I graduated from the University of Montana with a bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Biology. I studied flora, fish, mammals and birds in my undergrad.

Since graduating, I have studied cliff-nesting Gyrfalcons in subarctic Alaska, cave-dwelling bats in central Texas, and the threatened Northern Long-Eared Myotis throughout Wyoming.

As I travel and work, I hope to share interesting pictures and observations here on the blog. It will help me grow as a biologist and leave a record behind.

No matter where you are, the natural world is a fascinating place once you start to look. I want to learn to pay attention.
